Two small creatures hovered in the corner, holding their tiny pointed ears, trying to drown out the screaming coming from the female human sitting below them. The screaming wasn’t audible to any being other than the creatures and the human; she was screaming in her head. If she did not stop soon they were afraid of what would happen to her; what would happen to them. They were charged with taking care of this unusual human, and they felt as if they were failing.

Her long, curly, burgundy hair was falling around her face, which was cradled in her hands. Her legs were curled up in front of her, and tears were streaming down her arms. She was falling, but she didn’t know where she was falling too.
